About me
Hi, I’m Kaed. A freelance designer and developer. I focus mainly on UI/UX for web design or app development. I graduated from
University at 20 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Interactive media. Doing so has allowed me to hone skills in many areas, including
photography, videography, graphic and web design. As well as gain experience in various coding languages, including but not limited
to JavaScript and C#.
I have always had a passion for creating. Since about the age of 12, I dabbled in Photoshop and illustrator, creating small videos
on YouTube. Most of which are too embarrassing to recall, but got me started on the path that I am on today. It has always been
interesting to me to be able to create something beautiful and share it with the world. I want to be able to continue showing my
passion for design in everything that I do. Some of my work can be seen in the following pages.
I have worked to try and become versatile to the client. Working with a solid deadline in a restricted time period has taught me to
become thorough with time management and since I have had no paid commissions, I have only worked on educational products. Those can
be seen in my portfolio below

Three characters and a background to put them in were a part of my graphic design commission to create a poster for PictoPlasma 2019. The goal was to create a unique and eye-catching design that brought the attention to the event while also showing off a piece of artwork. We had to draw inspiration from the like of two famous designers and create a scene based off of these three things.
The characters were supposed to be a sort of odd set mash up of things that you wouldn't traditionally see and even make the viewer laugh. I decided to give the characters names to match their description. So, naturally I was drawn towards calling the policeman Constable Arms in irony. The baseball was called Sadness becuse she reminded me of the film, Inside Out. The weir bearded object you see was sort of a pirate-esque drunkard that had gotten his head stuck in some sort of bin shaped tree stump.
The two examples you see above are two separate websites. I was commissioned the first by Lossiemouth FC as part of a team project, for which I designed the website for. The goal was to create a clean and simple UI that allowed the cimmissioner to express all the inforrmation required while being modern and easy to understand. I did this and created a responsive website for desktop, tablet and mobile.
Alba Cruises, the second commission was an individual project where I had to design and develop a database-driven website that allowed users to book tickets for a ferry company who offer their services for travel between three islands off the west coast of Scotland. So, although I dabbled in the backend, even though my niche is frontend, I managed to create a secure way for users to book tickets, view, edit and cancel them if they wished while maintainning a clean UI and easy to use experience.
The aim of this product was to create a short film in any genre we chose. We had to go through all the areas of planning, from pre-production all the way to post production. For which, I was commended by my 2nd marker and invited to do a masters in film Production in Dundee.
Due to the global pandemic of 2020, this was actually all shot at my house as the UK was in lockdown. It actually delayed the prodcution and we had to come up with a whole new idea. However, in the end, I managed to keep my original plan and make it work. With the kindness of my younger brother, Khym Warren, and late mother, Tina Helmore, I was able to go straight from production and finish post processing all within a month. It was quite the challenge because the deadline had not changed despite the circumstances, but I wouldn't settle for anything but the best. Obviously, this isn't a perfect production, but with more time and more assets at my disposal, I know I can create a more professional and polished product.
These pictures are not any of which I have taken for college, but ones taken for friends and family. I enjoy the idea of being able to capture a moment in time and freezing it forever. So, although, these images are more personal to me than professional, I like to think that each picture speaks for itself and allwos a viewer to create a story in their own minds. I believe every picture taken is a lesson learned and my photos taken can only get better with every one.
